day 116 - the great fish rescue

Around seven o'clock tonight, I started to wonder what on earth I would blog about today.

The blogging gods heard my call.

Ten minutes later I was upstairs packing away laundry and I heard Ava scream for me. I went running into the room to find water everywhere and Tooty Toot flopping on the hardwood floor. The boys were fooling around and they knocked her plastic container off the bookcase and it split in half.

I grabbed an empty container and ran over to where she was flopping helplessly on the floor. Then it hit me. Oh shit - I have to touch this thing with my hands. Fighting against the part of me that was saying, "This damn thing cost $3.99. Wait for it to stop flopping, pick it up with a kleenex and flush it."

But no. Three little sets of human eyes and three little sets of fish eyes are watching me and expecting me to do something about it.

Enjoy your new home, Tooty Toot.

fabulous friday challenge

Welcome to another week! We have been blessed with lots of beautiful weather lately and this past weekend was a long one, giving me extra time to take pictures of the kids.

Here's a shot from Monday.

May 21

Your turn! I can't wait to see what you came up with this week. Have a great weekend!

Just a reminder of the rules:

1. The picture has to be taken by you.
2. The picture has been taken during the past week and it can be a picture you have posted earlier in the week.
3. Link up using the link to your individual blog post and not your main blog address.
4. Please include the Fabulous Friday button (below) in your post to link back to my site.
5. Leave feedback for five other participants. Let them know what you think!
6. By linking up you are okay with me re-posting your photo here if you are chosen for the top five.

day 115 - touche, environment canada

Apparently this is what happens when Environment Canada forecasts a big snow storm and you call it a liar.

Snow. Everywhere.

Day 115

day 114 - time for a trim

Today was haircut day. I wish I had something more exciting for you, but it was a pretty run of the mill, ordinary day.

day 113 - adventures on earth day

Another cache found and another first today - we hid two of our own caches not far from our house.

Day 113

It was a great day to be outside exploring. Two things are obvious to me as the day comes to a close:

1. We are hooked on geocaching.

2. Miley Cyrus apparently hangs out down by the river.

Day 113

day 112 - going to that big swirlie in the sky

The day has come. Our last fish, Mater, is about five minutes away from a swirlie.

The kids got to pick out new fish from the pet store. Here they are with their purchases. Ethan's fish's name is Tootie. I'm totally okay with that, however it doesn't resemble the Tootie I'm thinking of.

Oh wait. It's Tootie Toot.

No it's Stinky Stink (yes we are at the everything-fart-related-is-hilarious phase).

Wait a minute...it's Mater 2.

I have no idea what his name is. All I know is that Mater number one looks to have made a recovery and we have become a four fish family.

Day 112

Owen's fish is Fish. Oh wait a tick.....it's MoQueen 2.

Part of the project 365 documentation process is documenting the everyday goings on in the world. Now in no way am I suggesting that the new Happy Meal is as earth shattering or memorable as Burger Buddies were to my childhood, but a mini go instead of half the fries we would throw out anyway is a brilliant idea in my opinion.

Day 112

Oh my god, if there were Burger Buddies here right now I would eat a dozen of them.

day 111 - winding down before bed

A totally uneventful day. Here's Ava playing on the iPad before bed.
